Find Freedom Now Without Being Separated From Your Children
Beating substance use disorder is hard enough, but with children or a baby on the way it might feel impossible. But at Freedom House you’re not alone.
Our comprehensive program is personally tailored to meet you and your family’s needs. Our compassionate team provides connections, resources, and education to help you build a long-lasting foundation for a life filled with health and happiness.
Recovery isn’t easy, and it’s a long road ahead, but we will be with you and your family every step of the way. Take back control, and find the substance-free life you and your family deserve.
Our Treatment Philosophy
- We recognize that one size does NOT fit all and everyone’s pathway to treatment and recovery might be somewhat different. We pride ourselves in the fact that we individualize treatment and tailor it to the needs of the client.
- We value research-driven, evidence-based treatment interventions that integrate the sciences of medicine, therapy, and spirituality.
- We know that addiction is complex- as complex as the people and families it affects.
- We know that addiction is not a moral failing.
- We understand one common thread connects almost everyone we serve: trauma. We know that helping clients address trauma and underlying issues increases their chances of long-term sobriety and success.
- We not only treat substance use disorders, but also help clients and their families address all other related issues they may face.

Building a Foundation for the Future
Recovery doesn’t stop after your stay, which is why VOA has built a strong Freedom House alumni network. Both locations have an alumni coordinator, who you’ll start meeting with during your first week in treatment. Our alumni coordinators provide ongoing support, doing things like leading alumni mutual self-help groups, sending cards for birthdays and sobriety anniversaries, and sharing resources on a special Facebook page.
VOA also has transitional housing for Freedom House graduates. You and your children can stay for up to two years. You’ll continue to receive individual and group care. Child care options empower you to work, attend school, or volunteer.
